1Agreement

By creating an account or using Flyt (“the app”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Akil Sherif (org. nr. 937753071) (“we”, “us”).

Nothing in these Terms removes or reduces the mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under Norwegian law, or under the law of the country where you live if that gives you stronger protection.

2What Flyt is (and that the tutor is AI)

Flyt is a language-learning tool that lets you practise spoken Norwegian (Bokmål) through conversation and gives you corrections and progress feedback.

The tutor is generated by artificial intelligence — it is not a human. The voice you hear and the corrections you receive are produced by AI systems. We tell you this clearly because it matters to how you should use the app (see §6).

3Who can use Flyt

You must be 18 years or older to enter into this agreement and use Flyt on your own.

If you are 13 to 17 years old, you may use Flyt only if a parent or legal guardian has read and accepted these Terms on your behalf and supervises your use. Flyt is not for children under 13.

You must be able to form a binding contract to use Flyt.

4Your account

  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
  • You must give accurate information and keep it current.

5Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Flyt for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service.
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the service without our permission.
  • Abuse, overload, or attempt to circumvent usage limits or safeguards.

6AI-generated content — important limitations

  • The tutor’s replies and the corrections are generated by AI and may be wrong, incomplete, or inconsistent. Flyt is a practice aid — not a certified language qualification, exam, or professional assessment.
  • Do not rely on Flyt as your sole source for decisions that require accuracy (for example, official translations or legal, medical, or immigration matters).
  • We do not guarantee any particular learning outcome or level of proficiency.

7Price and usage limits

Flyt is currently free to use.

Fair-use limits apply to conversation time and session length to keep the service sustainable and available to everyone. These limits are shown in the app. We do not advertise the service as offering unlimited use.

We may introduce paid plans in the future. If we do, then before you buy anything we will clearly show you the price, the billing period, what the plan includes, how it renews, and how to cancel. Paid plans would be billed through the App Store or Google Play under their terms, and your statutory rights would continue to apply — including your right of withdrawal (angrerett) under Norwegian law, subject to the rules that apply to digital services.

8Your content and data

  • You keep your rights to what you say. You grant us the limited right to process it in order to provide the service — to transcribe it, generate corrections, and show your progress.
  • How we handle your data, including your voice, is governed by our Privacy Policy, which you can also read in the app (Settings → Personvern). Please read it: it explains what we collect, why, where it is stored, and your rights over it.

9Availability

We aim to keep Flyt available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features. Because Flyt depends on third-party services (such as our AI voice provider and hosting), their availability may affect ours.

10Termination

  • You may stop using Flyt and delete your account at any time (Settings → delete account). This erases your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or the law.

11Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Flyt is provided “as is”, reflecting its nature as an AI-powered practice tool. We are not liable for losses arising from reliance on AI-generated corrections or replies, or from interruptions to the service.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Norwegian mandatory consumer-protection law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Where the law caps how far liability may be excluded, our liability is limited to the maximum extent that law allows and no further.

12Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Norwegian law, and disputes may be brought before the Norwegian courts. This does not remove any mandatory consumer protection you are entitled to under the law of the country where you live.

If you have a complaint we cannot resolve directly, you may also be able to bring it to the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) or the relevant complaints body.

13Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will notify you of material changes in the app or by email, and we will update the “Last updated” date above. If you keep using Flyt after a change takes effect, that means you accept the updated Terms.
